Two things make a great sauerkraut – how you make it, and the ingredients. We use organic cabbage grown on small farms, and we prepare it the old fashioned way, with just salt and water, made in season and packed straight from local fields.
Sauerkraut is a great source of vitamin C and when the Dutch and Germans explored the high seas, they took kraut with them to prevent scurvy. It is believed to aid digestion and strengthen intestines.
